About Kestrel
Kestrel Commercial Services helps UK B2B service businesses make better commercial decisions before and after they sign customer contracts.
Who we are
Kestrel is led by a senior commercial and contracts leader with more than 30 years’ experience. That spans telecommunications and satellite, aerospace and defence, and UK central government IT outsourcing. It brings practical commercial judgement to complex service businesses.
We help clients identify the risks that can affect cash flow, scope, margin, delivery capacity and renewal value.
Before signature, you get a clear view of commercial, operational, payment, variation and renewal risks, with practical negotiation priorities. After signature, we help create visibility of live obligations, risks, renewals, variations and corrective actions.
Where we sit
The Commercial Risk Review is designed to sit between two extremes.
At one end, AI-only reviews offer speed and scale, but interpreting and prioritising the findings stays with the client. At the other, a full solicitor-led review gives detailed legal assurance, but can cost more and take longer than an early commercial decision needs.
Kestrel provides a focused middle ground: an experienced commercial review of the risks most likely to affect cash flow, scope, margin, delivery and renewal value. It explains why they matter and prioritises the actions and negotiation points that deserve attention.
Where legal drafting or specialist legal interpretation is needed, we support clients to obtain it from qualified solicitors.
Our approach
Kestrel’s approach is straightforward: make commercial intent and operational reality align. Agreements are then negotiated well and can also be managed effectively throughout their life.
We complement, rather than replace, the work of qualified solicitors. A kestrel hovers before it moves, and a review starts the same way: fixed attention on one contract.
